SLAF Continues Search and Rescue Operations in Southern Coastal Belt

SLAF's No 8 Light Transport Squadron at Sri Lanka Air Force  Ratmalana deployed a Beech King Air (B-200T Beechcraft) surveillance aircraft to search the coastal area from Kollupitiya to Galle as part of a continuous joint search & rescue operation being conducted with the Navy while rescue helicopters are on standby to respond to any eventuality.

This aircraft specially utilized for surveillance purposes can sustain continuous flying surveillance operations. for approximately six hours.

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
