SLAF Poson Poya celebrations
A ‘Kiribath’ (Milk Rice’) and tea Dhansala, in which approximately 10,000 people from the local village area participated, was organized by SLAF Unit Weerawila at Sri Abhinawaramaya Temple on 23rd June 2013 as part of their program to celebrate the “Poson Poya” Day Festival.
The Unit also arranged flower and Herbal drink stalls providing flowers and herbal drinks free of charge for over 5000 devotees at the “Sithul Pawwa” Temple who had gathered to participate in a “Dharma Deshna” which was also telecast live over a national channel.
The Commanding Officer of the Unit Gp Capt MDJ Wasage, Officers and all ranks of the Unit attended the event.
