Annual Commander's Inspection of SLAF Base Anuradhapura
The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama conducted the Annual Inspection at SLAF Base Anuradhapura on 29th June 2013. The Commander reviewed the parade which was commanded by the Base Commander Gp Capt HSS Thuiyacontha.
Certificates of Commendation were awarded during the parade to 16387 F/Sgt Dulip KMT Air Frame Fitter (Sp), 17412 F/Sgt Bandara HMDI Aero Eng Fitter (Sp), 19191 Sgt Chaminda Kumara WDS Aero Eng (Sp), 27149 Cpl Weerasooriya WMCSB MT Fitter (I) and 022786 LAC Munasinghe MMAB Sheet Metal Worker for the valuable service they rendered to the development of the Base.
During the course of the inspection covering all the areas of the Base, the Commander declared open the newly constructed Airmen’s Holiday Home which comprise of eight rooms and a common Air conditioned dining hall.
At the conclusion, the Commander addressed Officers, Airmen, Airwomen and Civilian staff of the Base, while praising the commendable job they had done and he encouraged them to set and reach even higher goals. The Commander emphasized the value of implementing more development projects, where the SLAF has been able to enhance welfare facilities utilizing the income of these projects.
