The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama conducted the annual AOC’s inspection this morning (12 October 2013) at SLAF Station Diyatalawa.



The Commander, upon arrival for the inspection reviewed the AOC’s parade commanded by the Commanding Officer Group Captain WWPD Fernando and awarded Certificates of Commendation during the parade to 16651 Flight Sergeant Jayaweera KLNR (Ops Grd Sp I), Sergeant Pathirana RPPR (Cat Asst I), Corporal Shantha MPSA (Ops Grd Sp II), Mr. Hemantha Kumara (Labourer) for their meritorious contribution to the station in particular and to the Air Force in general.

During the course of the inspections the Commander visited all areas of the Station and declared open the newly constructed Stable Hill Cabanas and Firing Range.

Concluding the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks including the civilian personnel at Station main assembly hall and commended the work of the Commanding Officer and the Staff in maintaining the Station at a high standard and emphasized the need to contribute their best to the Air Force as well as to the nation at all times.
