A Religious Ceremony at the Temple of Sacred Tooth
A Religious Ceremony and Almsgiving were held at the Temple of Sacred Tooth this morning (23rd October 2013) with the key participation of the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama to commemorate fallen war heroes of the Sri Lanka Air Force. This was organized by the Directorate of Welfare of the Sri Lanka Air Force for the 3rd consecutive year.
Religious blessings were invoked on the leaders of the country, the three service commanders and all ranks presently serving in the Air Force, fallen heroes, who made the supreme sacrifice, in defence of our motherland and those who died whilst on active service and to bless the families left behind by those fallen colleagues during this ceremony.
Chief Minister of the Central Province Hon Sarath Ekanayake, The Governor of the Central Province Hon Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal KA Gunatilleke, the Air Force Board of Management, Officers and a cross section of other ranks representing all Bases and stations as well as various trades of the Air Force were also present.
