6th Formation Day Celebrated at SLAF Station Palavi

Sri Lanka Air Force Station Palavi celebrated its 6th formation day under the guidance of Commanding Officer Group Captain K Wannigama together with all officers, other ranks and the civilian staff on 1st November 2013.

The Formation day celebrations began with a parade which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer. A soft ball cricket tournament was conducted with the participation of Officers, Airmen and Civilian staff of the Station. This was followed by an all ranks lunch.

Coinciding with the formation day calibration, a Shramadana Campaign was conducted at ‘Kobbakaduwa Temple’ Palavi on last Wednesday. The event was mainly focused to construct a ‘Dharma Shalawa’ in this temple.


Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
