The Annual General Meetings of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit was held this evening (07 December 2009) at the Air Force Headquarters Auditorium under the patronage of Mrs. Nelun Goonetileke, the Chairperson. At the Meeting the new Executive Committee was selected for the year of 2010.

During the function 8 Wheel chairs and a pair of spectacles were donated among needy personnel under the Medical Project launched by the SVU of SLAF.A sewing machine was also donated to a wife of a civilian working in the Air Force for self employment.

Further, three interest free housing loans were granted to service personnel under Anula Fernando Housing Project whilst a monetary donation of Rs. 200000 was granted to the wife of war hero 15636 Flight Sergeant Nishantha to complete her house.

A scholarship was granted to the son of  a civilian in Air Force and a monetary donation of Rs. 10000/= was granted to the son of war hero war hero Wing Commander Raj Fernando for his higher studies under Marian Goonetileke Scholarships Project.
