31st Formation Day Celebrated at SLAF Base Anuradhapura
An eventful day of community services, recreational and religious activities marked the celebration of the 31st Anniversary of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Anuradhapura under the guidance of the Base Commander Gp Capt HSS Thuyacontha together with all officers, other ranks and civil staff on 11th November 2013.
Coinciding with the formation day celebrations a Shramadana Campaign was conducted at Kirikkulama School Anuradhapura on 6th Nov 13. Medical and Dental clinic was organized in order to meet the much needed requirement of uplifting the health condition of fifty two Monks at the Sri Vijaya Viharaya meditation center at Wijayapura. In addition members of the Base through a volunteer contribution made a donation of funds to a family whose members were victims of Thalesemiya.
The formation day celebration began with a parade which was reviewed by the Base Commander. This was followed by a spirited cricket tournament. The celebration concluded with an all ranks lunch.
