Annual Commander's Inspection at SLAF Station, Colombo - 2013

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama conducted the Annual Commander’s Inspection at the Air Force Headquarters and Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo on 6th December 2013.

The Commander was received by the Commanding Officer SLAF Colombo Air Commodore DJC Weerakoon at the Air Force Head Quarters after being accorded a Street lining which was commanded by Flying Officer LN Mayuranga.

During the course of the inspection the Commander inspected the all areas of the Air Force Headquarters and SLAF Station Colombo. The Commander awarded Commendation to four Warrant Officers, six SNCOs, seven JNCOs, four Leading Aircraftmen, one Leading Aircraftwoman, one Aircraftman and one Civilian for their meritorious contribution to their own Unit in particular and to the Air Force in general.    

The Commander concluded the Inspection at Air Force Headquarters and SLAF Station Colombo, before departing for SLAF Guwanpura by addressing all ranks of the Headquarters and SLAF Station Colombo. He acknowledged the hard work of the personnel which went into preparing for the inspection and commended the work of all Directors, the Commanding Officer and the Staff in maintaining the Air Force Head Quarters and the Station at a high standard and emphasized the need to contribute their best to the Air Force as well as to the nation at all times.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
