With the view of facilitating numerous requests made by the NOKs of servicemen Killed inAction (KIA), Disabled in Action (DIA) and Deceased while in service, the Commander of theAir Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama authorized financial grants as a distress reliefinitiative for NOKs and deserving family members of serving personnel.

A donation ceremony was held on 18 February 2014 at the Seva Vanitha Unit, AFHQ Colombounder the patronage of the Chairperson of SLAF SVU Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrema.

The monetary relief measures were granted to NOK of KIA service members through theRanaviru Welfare Fund (RWF) and NOK of deceased service members through the Central Welfare & Rehabilitation Fund (CW&RF). In addition, a Wheel chair with special features washanded over to a serviceman during this programme.

Air Vice Marshal MLK Perera the Director Welfare and Air Cdre PDA Maristella were also present at the occasion.
