Inauguration of Modified X-Ray Unit at SLAF Base Ratmalana
A long outstanding
requirement for a Modified X-ray unit at SLAF Base Ratmalana was fulfilled this
morning when a Computed Radiography (CR) x-ray unit was inaugurated by Air
Commodore DMS Karunarathna, Director Health Services.
This modified x-ray department at the Hospital, SLAF Base Ratmalana will be of immense benefit to all service personnel and their families, who previously had to resort to outside institutions to meet their requirement for diagnostic and screening X Ray imagery.
The newly established unit will also empower the hospital to effectively perform its functions with regard to specialized clinics, surgical theatre lists, endoscopy lists, air crew and other medical examinations for which X Ray imagery is required.
This modified X-ray department became a reality due to the effort of Director Health Services and the guidance and fullest support given by the Base Commander of the SLAF Base, Ratmalana.
