Pirith Chanting and Alms Giving at Palavi

In order to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the SLAF and to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the EOD Training School at SLAF Station Palavi, A Pirith Chanting and Alms Giving ceremony was held at SLAF Station Palavi on 14th and 15th March 2014.

63 members of Buddhist clergy were invited for the alms giving ceremony which was made colourful with a pageant at the commencement.   Blessings were invoked for the Commander of the Air Force, SLAF Station Palavi, EOD Training School, those who laid down their lives for the motherland, those wounded in action, all serving personnel of SLAF and for the betterment and future endeavours of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The Station Commanding Officer Gp Capt IK Weeraratne, Commanding Officer No. 38 Regiment Wing Sqn Ldr DGPL Jayathilake, Commanding Officer EOD Training School Sqn Ldr SP Weerasinghe and all other station members participated for the event.
