Commander's Annual Inspection of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda
The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal
Kolitha Gunatilleke conducted his Annual Inspection of SLAF Base
H’ingurakgoda on 30th May 2014. The Commander, upon arrival for the
inspection, was received by Group Captain VB Edirisinghe through a
street lining of airmen commanded by Flight Lieutenant SU Kodikara.
The Commander inspected all areas of the Base premises including four Lodger Formations of the Base viz. No 07 Helicopter Squadron, No 09 Attack Helicopter Squadron, No 02 Supply and Maintenance Depot and No 25 Regiment Wing.
Certificates of Commendation were awarded by the Commander to 14166 Master warrant Officer RKDP De Silva ( Aero Eng Fitter SP),07218 Warrant Officer DLG Perera (Ops Grd III),19093 Flight Sergeant Wikramasinghe WMMP (Air Frame Fitter SP), 19615 Sergeant Sugath Chamara MG (Ops Grd SP I),22968 Sergeant Alahakoon AMKS (Aero E & I Fitter SP), Mr. HMG Ranathunga (Electrician Class I), and Mr.DTJS Dharmasena (Labour Class III) for the valuable service they rendered to the development of the Air Force.
Concluding the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks of the Base. While praising the commendable job they had done, he encouraged them to set and reach even higher goals. The Commander emphasized that these Annual Inspections contribute toward the development of the organization.
