Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha visits Temple of the Sacred Tooth

The Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, now in Sri Lanka, paid his obeisance to the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy this morning (18th July 2014). The delegation arrived in Kandy from China Bay by SLAF Mi 17 Helicopter.  On arrival, they were received by the Commanding Officer, SLAF Station Sigiriya, Wing Commander CP Gunatileke and were conducted to the sacred temple for veneration.

Afterwards, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha visited the Elephant Orphanage, Pinnawala.  Later in the afternoon, he called on HE the President, Mr Mahinda Rajapaksha, at President's House.

The visiting Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force visited   SLAF Base Katunayake in the evening where they were received by the Base Commander, Air Commodore Sudarshana Pathirana. The guests were then conducted to No. 5 Jet Squadron and No. 10 Jet Squadron.

The Commander of the Air Force hosted the Visiting Air Chief and his entourage to a Banquet at Eagles' Lagoon View, Katunayaka.
