Paratroopers in Action at SLAF Ampara

The passing out parade of 29th Basic Airborne Course was held at the Drop Zone, Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Ampara on 06 Feb 15. The Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Senior Officers of the Three Services, were among the distinguished guests. Commanding officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ampara Group Captain Chaminda Wikramarathna, Commanding Officer of Parachute training school Wing Commander Jagath Godakanda, the proud parents of the trainees were also present to witness the function.

The parade commenced with static line jumps of the trainees from an MI 17 Air Craft. After that, Sky divers of the SLAF performed a magnificent show.  The Chief instructor, Parachute Training School Squadron Leader CS Piyasundara landed with the Air Force Flag.

The Air Force Band presented an attractive display and The Chief Guest pinned on the Paratrooper Wings of the trainees passing out. Corporal Kithsiri MKAGAN was announced the best para trooper of No29th Basic Airborne Course.
