The No 02 Air Defence Radar Squadron Celebrates 9th Anniversary
The No 02 Air Defence Radar Squadron which was inaugurated on 10th March 2006 celebrated its 9th Anniversary by giving prominence to religious activities with pride of its immense contribution to the National Air Defence System.
In celebrating its 9th anniversary, a number of activities were organized by the squadron commencing with a Shramadana campaign followed by a “Bodhi Pooja” at the “Sri Bodhi Dakshinaramaya” temple, Vavuniya. Further, a special function was held in the Hindu Kovil at the Base with the participation of all Squadron personnel.
The Formation Day working parade was reviewed by Wg Cdr GGSR Gunawardana, the present Commanding Officer of No 02 ADRS. A soft ball cricket tournament was also organized among the formation personnel in parallel to the formation day activities. Acting Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Wg Cdr SWCP Bodhiseela and other senior officers of the Base witnessed the occasion.
