Annual AOC's Inspection at SLAF Base Vavuniya
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, conducted the AOCs Annual Inspection of SLAF Base Vavuniya on the 02nd April 2015.The Commander was welcomed to the base with a parade commanded by the Base Commander Air Commodore Kapila Wanigasooriya following which Certificates of Commendations were awarded to F/ Sgt Jayawardane GDL (Ops Grd Sp III),Mr. AL Samaranayake (Civilian) and Mr. RR Ranaweera (Civilian) for their meritorious contributions to the SLAF Base Vavuniya in particular and to the Air Force in general.
The Commander inspected the Base including No. 111 UAV Squadron, No. 2 Air Defence Radar Squadron, No. 23 Regiment Wing ,No 61 Intelligence Wing and the SLAF Detachment Mamaduwa which comes under base Vna.
Concluding the AOC’s inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks including the civilian personnel and commended their hard work to uplift the standards of the base and emphasized the need to contribute their best to the Air Force as well as to the motherland at all times.
