War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony 2015

SLAF paid tribute to all Officers and men killed in action throughout the three decade long conflict at a simple ceremony attended by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal  Gagan Bulathsinghala today(03 Jun 14).

 All members of the Air Force Board of Management, senior officers and a cross section of the other ranks attended the ceremony which was held at the Sri Lanka Air Force War Heroes Monument at SLAF Trade training school Ekala.

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala laid the first wreath followed by a Former Commander of the Air Force Air Chief Marshal Walter Fernando.  Director Welfare, Air Vice Marshal MLK Perera, representatives of all ranks and civilians of the Air Force laid wreaths at the monument. Spouses and children of the SLAF war heroes also joined in the tribute by laying wreaths and flowers at the monument.


Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
