The Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Association has decided to donate a fully equipped modern fire vehicle worth more than 100 million Rupees to Sri Lanka Air Force this year.

The Officials of the Delegation comprising Mio Yoshihiko, Mio Wakako, Kani Chikara, Okayama Kanehira and Dr. Anil Thilakarathna called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force on 20th July.

The ceremony of handing over the "Sky Ladder Fire Vehicle" to the Sri Lanka Air Force through this Association was held at AFHQ on 21 July 2015. The delegation handed over the vehicle to the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala during the ceremony.

This is the first occasion that the Japan Lanka Friendship Association, which has previously donated many equipment to Sri Lankan Organizations, has donated equipment to the SLAF.

A special cultural programme was held at AFHQ in appreciation of the donation, with the objective of making it a memorable event for the Japanese delegation.

The delegation included Dr Lal Thilakaratne, the President of the Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Association, and Japanese well-wishers of the association.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
