SLAF Colombo Pre-School Annual Sport Meet - 2015
The Sri Lanka Air Force Pre-School Colombo, held its annual sports meet on 22 July 2015 at the Rifle Green Grounds, Colombo.
Hoisting of the National Flag followed by the lighting of symbolic Olympic torch started the proceedings for the day. A number of children’s games and fun activities were organized to give them a day full of enjoyment. The Kids’ Band display and Drill display took the attention of the personnel who witnessed the sports meet.
The establishment of pre-schools of international standards in Air Force establishments located around the country was a concept introduced by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit. This indeed generates immense value, as it eases the burden of providing quality early education for children of personnel serving in the SLAF as well as for the children of people living in the vicinity of SLAF establishments.
The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Samanthi Bulathsinghale graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes and gifts among the children. Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo Air Commodore Prasanna Payoe also present at the event.
Pasindu Kothalawala a student of the Kindergarten conducted the welcome speech while Yashira Hadigalla a student of the Kindergarten conducted the vote of thanks for the fun filled day.
