A Tribute to One of Our Own
Squadron Leader Jayasinghe Pathiranahelage Sampath Priyalal (02471) expired on 15 August 15 due to sudden illness.
Sampath joined the SLAF in the Administrative Regiment branch during the year 2002 as a member of the 41st Intake of Officer Cadets and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in 2003. The 35 year old officer had served at various Air Force establishments and had also qualified as an Air Defence officer.
He leaves behind his loving wife Kanchana.
The remains lie at No 139/17 Mahenawatte, Aswennawaththe, Divulapitiya.
The funeral with full military honours will take place on 17th August. The remains will be taken over by the funeral parade at 1500 hrs.
The Air Force mourns the loss of a brother officer, a fellow serviceman and a gentleman.
