Pirith Ceremony at SLAF Station Batticaloa

An all-night pirith chanting ceremony followed by an almsgiving was held at SLAF Station Batticaloa on 21st  and 22nd August 2015 on the guidance of the Commanding Officer Wing Commander Buddika Piyasiri.

Religious blessings were invoked on the fallen heroes who made the supreme sacrifice in defence of our motherland and those who died whilst on active service in this Station, and all ranks and their families presently serving in SLAF Station Batticaloa.

A colorful procession was organized by the Station personnel to accompany the religious relics and the Buddhist monks to the Pirith ceremony. Thereafter alms were offered to sixteen Buddhist monks on the following day and  Atapirikara were presented to all Bhikkus who attended the ceremony under the patronage of all personnel of the station.

The Commanding Officer, officers and all personnel of the station participated the event.
