Aircrew Water and Jungle Survival Training Programme no 10-15 Commences

The Aircrew Water and Jungle Survival Training Programme No 10-15 commences on 29 Sep 15 at SLAF Station Ampara. 

The aim of this exercise is to enhance the knowledge and skills of Aircrew, to survive in actual crash/force landing/ejection above water or over a jungle area and to give practical experience in survival. The exercise was planned to give the trainees the required theoretical and practical experience culminating in a Field Training Exercise (FTX).

Total of 21 aircrew members (14 Pilots, 02 Flight Engineers, 02 Loadmasters, 02 Air gunners, and 01 Air Int person) and 07 Instructors are taking part in this event.

Training Programme

Day 01:-    Opening Address, Administrative remarks, Lectures on survival in general and water survival.

Day 02:-    Basic swimming skills, Floating techniques.

Day 03:-    Under water swimming, Swimming with Mae West / Life jacket and Dingy drill training. SWET training, Winch dry drill, River crossing.

Day 04:-    Jungle survival lectures, Survival lane demonstration, Day and Night Map march.
