VSV Awards Ceremony

His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, conferred Vishishta Sewa Vibushanaya (VSV) medals for 32 personnel of the armed services at a colourful ceremony held  at the President secretariat office today (8 October 2015).  

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala was among today’s recipients of the Vishishta Sewa Vibushanaya (VSV).

The VSV is awarded to senior officers of the regular forces or the three services for exceptional, distinguished and loyal service. The decoration is awarded at the National Day parade/stipulated day and the recipient will be entitled to use the symbol VSV his name.

Retired Air Vice Marshal PDJ Kumarasiri was also awarded the VSV at the ceremony. Air Force Board of Management, a cross section of senior officers of the Air Force also participated in the ceremony.



Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
