'Api Wenuwen Api' Housing Project

A sixty nine houses completed under the second stage of 'Api Wenuwen Api' housing project for War Heroes in Hambanthota district and 51 completed houses in Mullaitivu District (Sampath Pura) were handed over today (07 January 2016) by Hon State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardana.

The state function was held at the Auditorium of the Defence Services College, Colombo. 

Six SLAF members ceremonially received the keys of new houses from the State Minister.

Thirty seven (37) Army, Nineteen (19) Navy and Thirteen (13) Air Force personnel were beneficiaries of the Api Wenwen Api housing project for Hambanthota District.

Fourty five Army (45), four Navy (4) and two Air Force (2) Force personnel were beneficiaries of the "SampathPura "Housing project in Mullaitivu District.

Simultaneously, three hundred and forty seven (347) including seventy three (73) SLAF personnel received eligibility certificates for material assistance worth Rs 750,000.00.

 Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Engineer Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Tri Forces Commanders, senior government officials, military officers and a large number of service families were present at the occasion.
