Sri Lanka Aviation Contingent Bor Commended
Ms Ellen MargretheLøj, The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS) paid an official visit to the UNMISS Bor compound of Jonglei state of South Sudan on 09 February 2016. She visited the Sector Head Quarters, and all Contingents of TCCs (Troop Contributing Countries) in Bor UN compound.
Upon her arrival at the Sri Lanka Aviation compound, SRSG was honored by a Guard of Honor. The Contingent Commander conducted a brief presentation at the Officers’ Mess, giving an introduction about Sri Lanka, SLAF, Contingent, its operational aspects, achievements and finally the tasks to be accomplished in near future.
The SRSG and the delegation were highly impressed on the standards maintained by the Sri Lanka Aviation Contingent and commended the successful missions demonstrated within this short period.
The delegation was comprised of the UNMISS Police Commissioner, Sector Commander, Sate Coordinator, Sate Administrator, and many other officials of United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS).
