SLAF Assists to Conduct Fire Drill at Central Bank

The Fire and Rescue Unit of the Sri Lanka Air Force assisted to carry out a fire drill at Central Bank, Colombo on 31st March, 2016.

33 SLAF personnel participated in the fire fighting and rescue exercise with the supervision of SLAF Chief Fire Officer Group Captain PMCP Dias.

The SLAF fire fighters demonstrated several rescue tactics such as aerial rope rescue and high angle rescue using the Bronto sky-lifter. SLAF introduced the new tactic of casualties lowering by bowline on a bight at the today fire exercise.
