Commander of SLAF Illuminates the Gangarama Vesak Kalapaya

On the invitation of the chief priest of the Gangarama temple the most venerable Galaboda Gnanissara Thero, the Commader of the Air Force, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala switched on the lights to illuminate the Gangarama Vesak Kalapaya on the 23 May 2016, the day allocated for the Air Force.

The guests were accompanied to the “Seema Malakaya” from the Gangarama temple in a ‘Perahara’.

The lighting of the oil lamp by the distinguished guests followed the chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by members of the ‘Maha Sangha’.  Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghla and distinguished guests switched on the lights of the Vesak Kalapaya and witnessed the Bakthi Geetha program.

Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs Samanthi Bulathsinghala, Director Ground Operations Air Vice Marshal Krishan Yahampath, Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal Rohintha Fernando, officers and other ranks of the SLAF were present at the ceremony.
