NDC Delegation from Tanzania Visits Air Force Headquarters

A 15-member delegation of Tanzania National Defence College (NDC) visited the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters today (01 June 2016).

The delegation was headed by Maj Gen(Retd) Festo Ndewiro Uiomi, the Senior Directing Staff of Tanzania NDC and comprising with Officers of Tri-Services from Tanzania, Namibia, South Africa, Malawi and Zimbabwe, who are currently on their Study Tour to Sri Lanka.

Delegation had the opportunity to meet the Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Ranil Gurusinghe for an interactive Q & A Session. After discussions on mutual interests, Maj Gen(Retd) Festo Ndewiro Uiomi and the Chief of Staff exchanged mementos to mark the visit.
 
Subsequently, Group Captain Lasitha Sumanaweera, Senior Air Staff Officer conducted a presentation on the Sri Lanka Air Force. Director Aeronautical Engineering Air Vice Marshal Ajantha Silva, Director Logistics Air Vice Marshal Sumangala Dias, Director Training Air Vice Marshal Vijitha Gunarathne, Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal Rohintha Fernando and Senior Officers also present at the presentation.

 

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
