SLAF Women’s weight lifters emerged the champions in the 09th Defence Services Weight Lifting Championship 2016 concluded on 01 June 2016 at the Indoor Stadium, SLAF Base Katunayake.

SLAF weight lifter LAC Gomas BDH became the best lifter in 48Kg weight category while SLAF Women team secured 29 points, winning 04 Gold Medals and 03 Silver Medals.

Director Aeronautical Engineering Air Vice Marshal Ajantha Silva graced the occasion as the chief guest. Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake Air Commodore Sagara Kotakadeniya, Officers and other ranks also witnessed the finals.
