SLAF Celebrates ‘National Environmental Week’
A special Tree Planting Programme carried out at all Bases and Stations of the SLAF in parallel with the ‘National Environmental Week'.
Main event of the tree planting programme was organized by Command Agro Unit SLAF Base Katunayake on 05 Jun 16 with the participation of Base Commander Air Commodore Sagara Kotakadeniya.
Budded Cashew, Lemon, Guava, Lime and Orange in organic manure over a 05 Acres of land was cultivated during this programme. Command Agro Officer Group Captain Indika Weeraratne, Officers, other ranks and civilian staff of SLAF Base Katunayake present for the programme.
In Parallel to this, all SLAF establishments organized Special programmes to mark World Environment Day with the guidance of respective Commanding Officers.
