SLAF War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony 2016

SLAF paid tribute to all Officers and men Killed In Action (KIA) at a grand ceremony graced by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal  Gagan Bulathsinghala today (04 July 2016).

Chief of Staff of the SLAF Air Vice Marshal Ranil Gurusinghe, all members of the Air Force Board of Management, senior officers and a cross section of the other ranks attended the ceremony which held at the Sri Lanka Air Force War Heroes Monument at SLAF Trade Training School Ekala.

The Commander laid the first wreath followed by a Former Commander of the Air Force Air Chief Marshal Walter Fernando.  Chief of Staff of the SLAF Air Vice Marshal Ranil Gurusinghe, Director Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Rohintha Fernando, representatives of all ranks and civilians of the Air Force laid wreaths at the monument. Spouses and children of the SLAF war heroes also joined in the tribute by laying wreaths and flowers at the monument.

 

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
