Final Demonstration Exercise-Cormorant Strike 2016
The final demonstration of the Joint Exercise Cormorant Strike 2016 was held at Arisimalai, Trincomalee today (20 September 2016).
This was the climax of the entire operation where the Commando Regiment and Special Forces executed their final assaults capturing simulated hostile Bases in Arisimalai by deploying small groups in coordination with the Air Force and the Navy.
SLAF conducted AI missions, Rig and Drop, CASEVAC and Heli insertion/extraction.
The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy joined the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff and the Army and Navy Commanders to view the exercise which was conducted in Arisimalai, Trincomalee.
