As a part of expansion of the air scouts of the SLAF, a membership drive was held at SLAF Base Anuradhapura giving an opportunity to the school children in Anuradhapura area to join. Altogether a total of 61 children came for the enlistment interviews conducted by the SLAF Air Scout leaders on 21st October 2017. During the event, an introductory session on Air Scouting was conducted for both parents and children.

Base Commander SLAF Base Anuradhapura Air Commodore HN Abeysinghe attended as the Chief Guest to grace the event. Anuradhapura District Scout Commissioner Mr. C Dasanayake, Asst. Group Scout Master Air Scouting in Anuradhapura district Fg Off AML Arawwawala, SLAF Air Scout leaders and all other officers, WOs’ of  SLAF Base Anuradhapura also attended the event.
