SLAF Recruit Passing Out At Ampara

A total of 529 recruits from the 128th Regular and 85nd Volunteer Course passed out after completing 17 weeks of  challenging training on 14 August 2009. The training focused on drill, weapon training, tactics, field craft, map reading, fire fighting, explosive handling, Humanitarian Law, Air Force Law and Combat First Aid. The Regimental Training Centre was established on 24 July 2000 in SLAF Amapara, to conduct advanced training for gunner trade personnel. Since then over 5000 air men have been passed out from here.  

The Passing Out Parade was commanded by Squadron Leader GSN Priyadarshana, Officer Commanding Regimental Training Centre, Ampara. Parade Adjutant was Pilot Officer KASD Rathnapala and Parade Warrant Officer Sergeant Rajanayaka RMP.

The Chief Guest for this special occasion was Director Logistics Air Commodore TMPD Thennakon USP
