Asian Netball Champions Led by SLAF Player Returns to Sri Lanka

The Champions of the Asian Netball Championship 2018, the national netball team of Sri Lanka, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport today after a victorious tournament in Singapore.

Flight Lieutenant Chathurangani Jayasooriya captained the team bringing honour and glory to the Sri Lanka Air Force. She is also the captain of the Air Force netball team and it is the first time that a Captain of an Air Force team was given the opportunity to lead the national team. With her were three other players from the Sri Lanka Air Force, Sergeant Sureka Kumari, Sergeant Thilini Wattegedara and Leading Aircraftwoman Dulanga Dhananji.

All players are top tier performers at the national level and have brought much pride and glory to the Sri Lanka Air Force and the entire nation.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
