Academy China Bay and Station Colombo Men's and Women's Inter Unit Athletic Champions 2018
Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay and SLAF Station Colombo emerged as Men's and Women's Champions respectively at the Inter Unit Athletic Championship 2018, which was held on 18 December 2018 at SLAF Base Katunayake.
SLAF Station Colombo and SLAF Academy China Bay became Men's and Women's runner up respectively at the championship.
Officer Cadet Perera KIK from the Air Force Academy China Bay was awarded the Lakshman De Alwis Challenge Trophy for the Best Male Athlete while Aircraftwoman Bandara IBHN of the SLAF Base Katunayaka was awarded the Chairman Athletics Challenge Trophy for the Best Female Athlete of the championship.
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chief of Staff of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal DLS Dias, Members of the AFBM, Chairman Air Force Athletics, Air Vice Marshal MDAP Payoe, Senior Officers and Other Ranks were also present at the occasion.
