SLAF Athletes Brighten 88th National Athletics championships

Athletes of the Sri Lanka Air Force displayed their excellence and maintained their supremacy by winning 35 medals including 07 Gold at the 88th National Athletics Championship.

This premier athletics meet in the island was conducted at the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksha stadium on the 06th, 07th and 08th August 2010.

Minister of Sports, C.B. Rathnayaka graced the occasion as Chief Guest at the competition.

During the championship, SLAF sportsmen and women bagged 07 Gold, 10 Silver and 18 Bronze medals.

Meanwhile, sportswomen Ranasinghe and Dulakshi rewrote local sports history when they created two national records in the Pole Vault and Steeple Chase event.
