Awarding of Flight Engineer Brevets and Certificate of Commendation
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias awarded flight Engineers brevets to two qualified non commissioned officers and a Certificate of Commendation to another at AFHQ today.
Flight Sergeant Wimalasiri PAA (Aeronautical Electrical and Instrument) and Corporal Siriwardana IGMN, who received their brevets had completed over 100 hours of training on the Mi 17 Helicopter at No 6 Squadron at SLAF Base Anuradhapura and No 61 Flight.
Further, Sergeant Gunasena KPLS of SLAF Station Sigiriya was awarded a certificate of Commendation by the Commander for his outstanding contribution towards the Station. As a Gunner Instructor and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) qualified SNCO he had performed over and above the call of duty in the designing of a high standard Parade Ground for SLAF Station Sigiriya.
