Passing Out Parade of No 5 Contingent UN Peace Keeping Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA)

The Passing Out Parade of the No 5 contingent of the Aviation Unit under the United Nations helicopter deployment in Central African Republic (MINUSCA) was held today (05 August 2019) at SLAF Base Katunayake.

This Heli-deployment comprises 18 Officers and 92 Airmen and is scheduled to proceed to Central Africa during the month September 2019.

Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Sumangala Dias took the salute of the passing out parade commanded by Wing Commander KM Wanniarchchi ,the Contingent commander of the Heli-Deployment.

The Commander addressed the contingent personnel and family members present at the passing out parade. During his address he emphasized that UN Headquarters has appreciated the yeoman service carried out by Sri Lanka Air Force aviation contingents deployed in South Sudan and Central African Republic owing to display of service professionalism and devotion to the duty of our service personnel.  

Chief of Staff Air Vice Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and members of the Air Force Board of Management, Officers, Other Ranks and family members also present at the passing out parade.
