SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Holds Scholarship Awards Ceremony
The Air Force Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held today (22 August 2019) at the AFHQ Auditorium under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias and the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Mauyri Prabhavi Dias.
The annual scholarship scheme is intended to support selected students from Grade 5 up to the G.C.E. A/L examination. A total of 23 students of service personnel and civilian personnel of the SLAF received scholarships at this ceremony. These students were out of 200 students.
A further eleven (11) students who obtained nine “A” s at the G.C.E. O/L examination in the year 2018 were felicitated and provided with a financial grants by the Seva Vanitha Unit as well.
The Commander of the Air Force and the Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit congratulated and expressed their best wishes to students who succeeded in the examination during the ceremony.
Members of the SVU, Officers and Parents of the children were also present for the occasion.
