Commander of the Air Force Visits Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay
The Commander of Air Force Air Marshal 
Sumangala Dias visited the SLAF Academy China Bay today (10 October 
2019) to observe the ongoing course and the facility enhancement process 
of the Non Commissioned Officers’ (NCO) Management School. The school 
was reopened after a capacity enhancement, in which the number of 
students was increased from 90 to 150 and other training, accommodation 
and staff facilities were improved. 
After the NCOs’ Management School visit the Commander of the Air Force inaugurated the tree planting programme which was initiated under the directives of the Commandant of SLAF Academy China Bay.
Finally, the Commander of the Air Force declared open the newly constructed Hangar of No.3 Maritime Squadron at the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China bay. The construction work of the hangar started at the beginning of this year and the new hangar is capable of accommodating all the aircraft in the squadron inventory.
