SLAF Base Hingurakgoda Celebrates 41st Anniversary
SLAF Base Hingurakgoda celebrated its 41st Anniversary on 23 November 2019 with a Working Parade which was reviewed by the Base Commander, Group Captain NHDN Dias.
Leading up to the Anniversary celebrations, a Blood Donation Campaign was held in collaboration with the National Blood Bank on 19th November 2019 at the Base premises, giving prominence to Community Service activities.
The anniversary celebration commenced with a religious blessings at the “Minneriya Dewalaya” on 20 November 2019 to invoke blessings on all officers and other ranks presently serving at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda and those who made the supreme sacrifice in the defence of our motherland while serving at SLAF Base Hinguragoda. A “Bodi Puja” and “Osupan Dansala” were held on 21st November 2019 with the participation of service and civil personnel at “Bauddha Madyasthanaya” Buddhist Temple of Hingurakgoda

A Tree planting programme was conducted at the Base Headquarters. An Inter-Section Cricket Tournament, followed by Netball matches were held at the Base Playground and an All Ranks Lunch was conducted on 22nd November 2019.
