Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No 28 Disaster Management First Response Course
The Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the trainees of the No 28 Disaster Management First Response Course was held at the Disaster Management School, Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Mullaitivu on 29 December 2019.
The Commanding Officer of the SLAF Regiment Training School Vanni, Air Commodore KKAK Kaluarachchi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Mullaitivu, Group Captain AN Wijesiriwardena, Commanding Officer of the Disaster Management Training School, Squadron Leader SDDJ Ranasinghe, all Officers and Other Ranks of the Station were also present for the ceremony.

Introduction to Disasters and Hazard Profiles
Disaster Management Council
Act and role of the Disaster Management Center
Overview of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)
Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment
Information Technology related to disaster management and Geographic Information System (GIS)
Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE)
Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR)
International frame work of disaster management
Disasters Preparedness Plans
Conducting of awareness programmes on Civil Law pertaining to Emergency Response
Emergency Operation Center (EOC)
Contingency Plan (CP) and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
First Aid
Casualty and death management
Fire and Rescue.
Two (2) Officers from the Sri Lanka Navy, one (1) officer from the Special Task Force, one (1) officer from the Sri Lanka Air Force, six (6) Other Rankers from sister services (Army/Navy/STF) and 31 of Airmen received their certificates during the ceremony.
