Certificate awarding ceremony of Fire Fighter Basic Course

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No. 168 Basic Fire Fighter Course was held at the Fire School and Fire Tender Maintenance Squadron, Sri Lanka Air Force Base, Katunayake on 31st January 2020.

The chief Fire Officer, Wing Commander CP Hettiarachchi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Acting Commanding Officer of the Fire School and Fire Tender Maintenance Squadron, Squadron Leader HKA De Alwis, Instructors and other ranks of the school were also present.

The traditional ‘Certificate Awarding Ceremony’ is conducted at the end of the respective training programme in recognition of their training achievements. The 20 weeks of training focused on Chemistry of Fire, Basic Calculation, Breathing Apparatus, Rescue, Fire Alarm System, Fire Prevention, Casualty Transport Methods.

The trophy for the best Fire Fighter was won by 50058 AC Adikari AMGHT.

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
