New Air Movement at SLAF Base Ratmalana Declared Open by the Commander

The newly constructed Air Movement Complex at SLAF Base Ratmalana was declared open by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias this morning (24 February 2020).

With the re-location of No 8 Light Transport Squadron, Helitours and No 61 Flight at SLAF Base Ratmalana, this complex will facilitate personnel travelling to various destinations throughout the island.

The Commander was received on his arrival by the Base Commander SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Sampath Wickramaratne. The Chief of Staff and Members of the Air Force Board of Management participated for the opening ceremony.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
