Change of Command at the No 3 Maritime Squadron at SLAF Academy China Bay
The Change of Command Parade of the No 3 Maritime Squadron at SLAF Academy China Bay was held on today (24 February 2020) at the Squadron premises.
The new Commanding Officer Wing Commander KWNSD Welagedara MMS (Mil Com-PRC), BSc (Def Stu), LLB, Attorney at Law, psc, took over the duties from Wing Commander WV Premasinghe BSc (Def Stu), psc as the 2nd Commanding Officer after re-establishment of the Squadron.
The new Commanding Officer Wing Commander Welagedara was posted to the No 2 Heavy Transport Squadron as the Officer Commanding Operations before taking over command of the No 3 Squadron today.
The outgoing Commanding Officer Wing Commander Premasinghe will be taking up duties at the Ministry of Defence as an Assistant Military Liaison Officer (Air Force).
