Outgoing Commander of the Navy Calls on the Commander of the Air Force

The Outgoing Commander of the Navy, Admiral Piyal De Silva called on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, today (14 July 2020) at Air Force Headquarters.

Admiral De Silva was welcomed by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo, Air Vice Marshal CB Labrooy at the entrance to Air Force Headquarters where he was accorded a Ceremonial Guard of Honour by the SLAF Colour Wing.

The Admiral was then conducted to the Office of the Commander of the Air Force where a cordial discussion was held between the two Commanders. Admiral De Silva expressed his satisfaction and appreciation to the Commander of the Air Force for the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two services during his tenure. Thereafter, the Admiral also met with the Air Force Board of Management.

Official plaques were exchanged between the two commanders to mark the occasion. After which, the Commander of the Air Force extended his best wishes to Admiral Piyal De Silva and his family for all their future endeavors.

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
