178 Civilians Complete Quarantine Process and Leave for Homes

136 civilians arrived from the Korea and 42 civilians working at Katunayake Airport who were quarantined at the SLAF Quarantine Centres at Vanni and Iranamadu respectively were released on 24 October 2020. These Quarantine Centres were established on the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias in order to support the government’s effort of controlling the COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.

These civilians have been instructed to further self-quarantine themselves at homes for a period of 14 days. Operation of these Quarantine Centres were supervised by the Commanding Officers of SLAF Regiment Training School Vanni and SLAF Station Iranamadu, Air Commodore Indrajith Weerasooriya and Group Captain Group Captain Rohan Pathirana.
