Commander Declares Open New Pre-School at SLAF Station Weerawila
The newly constructed Pre-School at SLAF Station Weerawila was declared open by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Sumangala Dias yesterday (1 November 2020).
The Pre-School facility consists of two class rooms, an office room, sick room and a well-equipped outdoor playing area.
The project was completed within a very limited time period under the supervision of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Directorate of Civil Engineering and the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Weerawila. Flight Lieutenant WAKS Wanasinghe of the Air Field Construction Wing was the Project Engineer.
Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Mayuri Prabhavi Dias, the Commanding Officer, Group Captain VTS Sirimanne, Officers and other ranks of the Station and teachers of the Pre-School also participated for the opening ceremony.
After the opening ceremony, special mementos were exchanged between the Commander of the Air Force and Commanding Officer of the Station to mark the relinquishment of duties of the Commander scheduled for 02 November 2020.
